Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with ISWA. This application form will ask you to provide some information about your skills and the roles that you’re most interested in.
This form will take about 10 minutes to complete.
Privacy Statement for Data Collection:
The data that you are providing will be collected by ISWA Inc. to enable us to assess your application to be a volunteer.
- IT Services: We use a number of cloud-based IT services including Microsoft Office 365 and Mailchimp. Your data may be stored in these services to enable our operational activities, such as sending you email.
- ISWA Team Members: Your information, including contact details, will be accessible to other team members to enable them to contact you regarding your application to be a volunteer.
- Data Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal data by emailing us at any time at nagaraju.mannem@iswa-perth.org.

The volunteer descriptions are:
Canva Guru / Graphic Designer:
Create eye-catching graphics for Diwali Mela 2024. Design social media content, flyers, and promotional materials, ensuring alignment with event branding. Collaborate with the marketing team and showcase your creativity in a vibrant cultural event.
Content Creator / Video Production:
Capture the energy of Diwali Mela 2024 through video production. Create engaging content for social media, event highlights, and promotional videos. Collaborate with the marketing team to tell the story of the event and its cultural significance.
Marketing
Copy Writer/Content Writer:
Craft compelling copy and engaging content for Diwali Mela 2024. Develop promotional materials, social media posts, and event descriptions that captivate and inform our audience. Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance the event’s visibility and impact.
Stage Crew:
Assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of stage equipment for Diwali Mela 2024. Ensure smooth transitions between performances, manage backstage logistics, and support performers. Collaborate with the technical team to deliver a seamless event experience.
Raffle Coordinator:
Organize and manage the raffle draw at Diwali Mela 2024. Handle ticket sales, coordinate prizes, and ensure a smooth, transparent process. Engage with attendees to promote participation and maximize fundraising efforts.
Traffic Management Team Member:
Assist in managing the flow of vehicles and pedestrians at Diwali Mela 2024. Ensure safe and efficient movement, direct parking, and help prevent congestion. Collaborate with event coordinators and security to maintain a smooth experience for all attendees.
Security Management Team Member:
This role is to support the chief security personnel. Ensure the safety and security of all attendees at Diwali Mela 2024. Monitor event areas, manage crowd control, and respond to incidents. Collaborate with event coordinators and local authorities to maintain a secure environment throughout the festival.
Décor Curator:
Design and implement vibrant, culturally inspired decorations for Diwali Mela 2024. Coordinate with vendors and volunteers to bring the festive vision to life, ensuring all event spaces reflect the spirit of Diwali and enhance the overall atmosphere.
Volunteer Experience Coordinator:
Ensure a positive and fulfilling experience for all volunteers at Diwali Mela 2024. Coordinate volunteer activities, provide support, manage communication, and ensure volunteers feel valued and engaged throughout the event.
Women’s Activities Team Member:
Support women’s activities at Diwali Mela 2024, including organizing and managing booths like Women’s Restyle Closet, books, and other related events. Ensure a vibrant and engaging experience for attendees while promoting women’s empowerment and community involvement.
Kids Activities Team Member:
Organize and manage engaging kids’ activities like Lego building, paper lantern making, play dough diya crafting, and clay diya decorating. Ensure a fun and creative experience for children, and propose additional engaging activities to enhance their festival experience.
Sensory Friendly Zone Related Activities:
Design and manage sensory-friendly activities, ensuring a calm and inclusive environment. Facilitate activities like quiet zones, tactile games, and calming crafts to provide a comfortable experience for guests with sensory sensitivities.
